Feral Sanctuary

There is a separate area for about 40 cats which can never be re-homed but which are all very special and will live out their lives here with us. The Feral Sanctuary was founded in 1980 by the late Margaret Howe, a trustee and great benefactor of the Sanctuary. It has been upgraded since. There are two buildings, trees, planters, shelters and play equipment. We don't allow visitors inside, but there is a nearby seat from where you can watch them playing and sunning themselves on a fine day, and all gather near the gate when the food trolley is on its way!

Special characters are Bright Eyes with her bold piebald markings and dazzling sapphire eyes, Gwen, who has learnt to get out over the fence using her skills as a trapeze artist but is always home for breakfast, Jodie who came to us from London and has had to have her ears cropped to prevent the spread of cancer, and Oliver, who will always try to bite the hand that feeds or grooms him!
