Rhodes Minnis Cat Sanctuary are based in Folkestone, near Canterbury in the South East of England. We rescue and rehome homeless and unwanted cats and kittens from across the area and further afield including London and Kent.

Patrons

Liz Smith - one of Britains best known actresses, a devoted cat lover and friend of the Sanctuary since it began, always on hand to support our events.

Marc Henrie - world renowned photographer of animals, regular contributor to all the journals for cat lovers and much respected judge at cat shows.

Staff

Tracey Jell who came to work at Seathwaite in 1990, is now manageress. Tracey continues to take primary responsibility for the boarding. Tracey has made the Sanctuary, its cats, its friends and supporters her life's work.

Her niece, Claire Jell, is deputy manageress and takes the leading role on re-homing. Tracey and Claire live in the bungalow with the little colony of house cats and Tracey's dog Oscar. Don't worry about the big gruff bark you hear down the phone - he loves the cats just as much as you do!

Elise(Ellie) Marchant joined us in 2004, and has quickly settled in to become a most dependable and successful member of the team - her previous job on the Deli Counter ensures the highest possible standards of hygiene.

Adam Streater joined us in 2007 part time but is now employed full time and as well as undertaking the usual sanctuary duties carries out the gardening and maintenance work and by Audrey West, a volunteer with special interest in the ferals, and by Kirsty Evans (17) from nearby Stowting who came to us as a work experience placement, and has become our devoted Saturday Girl, giving the Sanctuary a greater part of her spare time.  She hopes to become a veterinary nurse.

Trustees

Christopher Russell Chairman.  Is a retired solicitor who has worked for the Charity since 1970.

Mandy Beer is deputy Chairman and Treasurer and previously held a similar post in the financial section of Dover District Council.

Sue Beer is Mandy's sister and has supported the Sanctuary for a number of years.  She has taken in a number of cats from us with disabilities as well as helping at functions etc

Jim Burgess has long been associated with Animal Aid and Advice in London .

Sandra Fagg from Deal has her own mini sanctuary of five elderly cats.

Ivy Gornall was formerly a show manager. 

Carole Warner is well known for her work with Pets as Therapy, taking her Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Burmese cats Phoebe and Sybil to nursing homes so that residents there can see and touch an animal again. In addition Carole had a tortie kitten from the Sanctuary who is now a fully qualified  PAT cat.  Carole is also the Sponsorship Secretary and Treasurer.
